In order to achieve its objectives, PCSRC will perform the following functions amongst others:
The commission has since then played a major role in bringing the industry to its current state. This is reflected in the growth of the industry to date.
Certainly, the rises in the number of participants from a few companies to over 1000 companies in the industry, the improvement of services and the tight competition that exist, are all signs of a promising future for the industry.
Eagle Express and many other companies are making their marks visible by providing quality services to customers locally. On the international scene, however, the major players like DHL, EMS, and FedEx are also contributing massively to the growth of the industry.
The future of the courier service industry, though promising, still needs to be natured to ensure consistency. Creating fair grounds for all players will also be necessary to enable the great future of the industry to manifest as competition will play a major role.
Ensuring the growth and full manifestation of the industry will take an all-inclusive effort from players and the PCSRC. The commission will have to uphold its regulation providing a fair ground, the player will have to provide quality services and competition will also ensure that the consumer gets a fair price for the services provided.
