5 Tips on how to prepare a package for delivery

A good packaging for your item is as good as its safe delivery. The better your packaging, the more possible your item will arrive safely. Every item will come with its way of packaging, especially for international shipment. These five tips apply to all items. They will help you find the right way of packaging your item, the right material to use for your packaging and also to avoid delay due to regulations.

  1. First of all, even before you start the packaging, you should assess your content to determine its weight, fragility, value and shipping regulations. You can do this by contacting your delivery service provider for example; Eagle Express. This will help you to follow the rules and determine the right packaging for your content. It will also help you avoid delays due to regulatory issues

2.  Secondly, use durable materials for the packaging. You can double wall your packaging if you think the content is too fragile or too heavy for the packaging. Cardboard and corrugated boxes are good suggestions.

  1. Leave about 6cm between the walls of your packaging and the content. To keep your content from dangling inside the packaging, fill all the empty spaces between the content and the packaging.

  1. Make sure to seal your packaging properly. Your packaging wouldn’t be any good if it’s not well sealed. Use pressure sensitive tapes to seal and adopt the H method of sealing as it binds properly by crossing it binds.

  1. Do well to label your package. The only constant reminder on your package about how fragile or sensitive your content is the label. It should also tell the destination, weight and actual content inside of your packaging.

Try as much to package your content well to avoid the stress of damaged content and avoidable delays.
